There is something both inspiring and entirely classy about the way grown-ups celebrate love.

Perhaps it was the 8am tournament at Pole Creek Golf Course on Friday followed by a bbq and lawn games at their lovely home with a stunning view of the continental divide across acres of sprawling golf greens.  Maybe it was the elegance of intricate lace under stained glass mountain motif in a charming local church on Saturday afternoon.  Or the sweet way he carried her piggyback in wedding attire off the Winter Park Ski Resort bus while she held an umbrella over him to keep them both dry in the rain on Saturday evening.  The beauty of these moments, captured by Steven Willis Photography, emanated a wisdom and elegance all their own.  Susan & Scott’s sincere, incredibly thoughtful, poignantly intentional approach gave pause for reflection, especially as alpenglow backlit the toasts in hues of orange, pink, and purple.  What a great weekend and what an honor to be part of!

Nicole and Pete exchanged their vows on the lawn of a mountain log cabin, twenty minutes from the bustle of Beaver Creek, captured in brilliant fashion by Brinton Studios.

Beano’s Cabin, with its massive log beams, intricate antler chandeliers suspended from vaulted ceilings, and double sided stone fireplace, welcomed guests in the cozy lodge fashion perfect for cooling fall temperatures. Over one hundred window panes with towering views of ski runs edged in golden aspen, a five course gourmet dinner prepared in a guest-facing kitchen with pristine tiles and suspended copper pots, elegant eucalyptus table runners accented in white hydrangea and candlelight (from Statice Floral), and the laughter and easy flow of conversation delighted the senses.

Guests ended the evening dancing to the exceptional music of Homeslice band under a canopy of market lights on the cabin deck, stealing an occasional breath of cool mountain air under the romantic twinkle of the Milky Way and sudden burst of a shooting star.

For us, Nicole & Pete’s wedding had the added delight of catching up with some of our former client couples who came as guests and we’re looking forward to more fun in 2015 when we have the honor of planning two of the bridesmaids’ weddings.  We love this group of stylish fun-loving friends!

Dawn and Kyle rode a chairlift up to their mountain ceremony at Granby Ranch.  With a jaw-dropping vista of the Continental Divide, slopes covered in yellow and purple wildflowers, and an aisle that started in the lush shade of an aspen grove, the June setting could not have been more perfect.  Steve Stanton Photography captured everything beautifully, from wooden runners adorned in purple thistle to hula hoops and fire pit fun.

Granby Ranch, home to Sol Vista Ski Resort, features lodging at the base for guests, a chairlift up to one of the most inspiring mountain ceremony locations in Colorado, and even a yurt at the top complete with mirrors for that last minute veil adjustment.

Bouquets by Statice Floral added just the right pop of wildflower color, especially against Dawn’s gorgeous white dress.  Her flowered belt with a touch of bling is perfect in the natural setting, too.

Guests rode a chairlift back down the mountain to enjoy cocktails and cool summer breeze on the deck.

Antlers encircling wildflowers, wooden runners from a friend’s weathered fence, bud vases wrapped in twine, lighted branches emerging from vintage inspired tin milk cans…this reception was rich in visual texture that complimented the mountain ski lodge setting.

Sharpe pens + Wooden Bench = Guestbook!  We love the personal practical concept and guests had fun leaving notes for Dawn and Kyle.  They also had a lot of fun on the dance floor to the music of Raygunomics, an 80’s cover band.  The idea of displaying colorful flip flops for dancing in bushel baskets tied in nicely with the rustic comfort theme, as did the outside firepit enjoyed by all ages.

Whole Foods created this colorful delicious assortment of cupcakes which we displayed on a variety of platters and tree slices.

Dawn and Kyle are appreciative people, as evidenced by their thoughtful thank-you at each guest’s place setting (pictured below, with a menu printed on the reverse side).  Their wedding style tastefully appreciates the natural beauty of breathtaking mountains, delicate wildflowers, and earthy elements of wood, metal, antlers, and light.

Dawn and Kyle are much appreciated in return, both by the numerous guests who made this one of the largest weddings ever hosted at Granby Ranch and by us.  Cheers to you both, Dawn & Kyle!  Thank you for letting us be part of your day!
